How we calibrate GRP-plates with complete process control

May 8, 2026

At Brandenburger Isoliertechnik, a new line keeps every GFRP sheet under control down to the last detail.

An automated pre-grinding center within Plant 5, developed for calibrating fiberglass-reinforced composite panels. Robot-controlled handling, a wide-belt grinding machine, automatic turning and repositioning, inline thickness measurement, visual surface inspection, and automatic OK/NOK sorting — all integrated into a single process.

The material is alternately ground on both sides, typically in 5 to 8 passes, until the desired thickness is achieved. Each panel is measured and visually inspected during the process.

What this means for our customers:

➔ Reproducibility panel after panel
➔ Controlled material removal down to the millimeter
➔ Continuous quality control, no random sampling. For applications where temperature, insulation, and dimensional stability come together — special machinery, mold making, sealing machines, high-temperature presses — that makes the difference between a composite that fits and a composite that performs.
For us and the Brandenburger Group, innovation and quality are not a destination, but a direction.
